Role description:
Arcadis is seeking an experienced and motivated Transportation Planner to join our growing Mobility Advisory team in Ontario.
The ideal candidate will possess experience in transportation planning and analysis, as well as policy review and data analysis. You will be familiar with key planning frameworks, have transit planning knowledge, and be skilled in leading public and stakeholder consultations.
Your portfolio will include supporting the design and development of comprehensive transportation programs that encompass active transportation, public transit and new mobility solutions to support multi-modal programs across our Mobility Advisory team. Additionally, you should have experience participating in consultation programs with stakeholders, agencies, and the public.
You will be responsible for undertaking research and analysis to evaluate transportation data and trends, identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation in projects. Using data driven approaches, you will support decision-making processes.

Role accountabilities:
- Support the execution of complex transportation planning and engineering projects ensuring timely delivery and client satisfaction.
- Contribute to the development of proposals by providing expert insights and detailed analysis to ensure comprehensive and compelling documentation.
- Support multi-disciplinary projects by collaborating across Mobility Advisory, and other global business groups to provide technical insights and expert advise to projects.
- Assist in the development of transportation projects conducting thorough network analysis, utilize advanced data analytics to inform decision making, and performing policy analysis to ensure alignment with standards.
- Guide the development of comprehensive plans and policies that promote sustainable and forward-thinking transportation solutions.
- Provide support in the development of innovative solutions to ensure work meets standards and client expectations.
- Foster innovation by keeping abreast of emerging trends and technologies in transportation planning and engineering, integrating fresh strategies to enhance both efficiency and sustainability.
- Ensure all projects meet industry standards and quality expectations through rigorous review processes.
- Implement rigorous quality assurance processes to maintain high standards of project delivery and client satisfaction.
- Build and maintain strong business relationships with public and private sector clients, including relationship management at senior management levels to ensure alignment with broader goals.
- Support business development efforts, including identifying growth opportunities, preparing proposals, and presenting to prospective clients.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Planning or Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Registered Professional Planner (RPP) or Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or equivalent.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in planning / engineering, including a track record of supporting the development and implementation of transportation solutions focused on sustainable programs.
- Ability to assist projects of various sizes and collaborate effectively within our diverse and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strategic problem-solving skills and advanced technical knowledge in transportation planning / engineering.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop and deliver professional presentations.
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines concurrently.

The salary range for this position is $66,000 - $99,000. The base salary represents Arcadis’ hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
