About the Role: 640 Toronto is looking for a Casual Radio Technical Producer to join our team at Corus Quay.

This is a hands-on, fast-paced role where no two shifts are the same. You will be at the heart of our programming: producing live shows, packaging content for air, and supporting some of Canada’s top talk radio programs.

From early morning weekend broadcasts to backing up weekday shows, you will play a key role in keeping everything running smoothly on-air.

Why This Role is Exciting:

This is a fantastic opportunity to build real, on-air experience with a major market station. You will work across a variety of shows, develop strong technical skills, and be part of a team that delivers high-quality, engaging radio every day.

You will contribute by:

  • Produce and operate the liveWeekends with Rob Fainational radio show every Saturday and Sunday.

  • Be in-studio for a 6:00 AM start, ready to deliver a seamless 3-hour live broadcast.

  • Record, edit, and package a weekend report (local events and weather) airing hourly from 7–9 AM.

  • Record, edit, and prepare paid and syndicated programming for air on Thursdays and Fridays.

  • Step in as a technical backfill for weekday programming, including: -Toronto Today with Greg Brady(5:30 AM – 9:00 AM). -No B.S. with Brad Smith(9:00 AM – 12:00 PM). -The Alex Pierson Show (12p - 3p) -The Ben Mulroney Show. (3p - 6p) -Global News at 6 PMTV simulcast andEmployment Law Show.

  • Operate master control and ensure smooth technical execution across live shows, features, podcasts, and specialty programming.

  • Manage audio levels, phone calls, commercials, imaging elements, and all on-air components.

  • Set up studios, build logs, and manage content using Media Touch and Burli

  • Collaborate closely with hosts, producers, and the newsroom, especially during breaking news.

  • Edit and upload audio content for broadcast and digital platforms.

Skills and experience you will bring:

  • Post-secondary education in Radio Broadcasting (completed or in progress) is an asset.

  • Strong audio production and editing skills (Adobe Audition, ProTools, etc.).

  • Experience with Wide Orbit and Burli (or similar broadcast systems).

  • Ability to think quickly and stay calm under pressure in a live environment.

  • A creative ear for enhancing content with sound and pacing.

  • Strong multitasking, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Passion for news/talk radio and a solid awareness of current events.

  • Understanding of CRTC guidelines and broadcast standards.

  • Positive, team-first attitude with great attention to detail.

  • Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, holidays, and pick up additional shifts.
