Job Responsibilities
- Create New Hire Profiles — Set up employee records, ensure accuracy of personal, job, and compensation data, and coordinate onboarding requirements.
- Process Employee Terminations — Complete offboarding steps, update systems, and ensure compliance with internal controls and legislative requirements.
- Manage Union Remittances — Prepare, reconcile, and submit union dues and related payments in accordance with collective agreements.
- Complete Weekly Payroll GL Clearing — Reconcile payroll general ledger accounts, investigate variances, and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare Employment Letters — Draft and issue employment verification, status change, and other HR-related letters.
- Perform Other Duties as Assigned — Support HR, payroll, and administrative functions as needed to meet operational requirements.
Requirements
- Excellent knowledge of finances including accounting principles and practices.
- Knowledge of Payroll Accounting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to provide a balanced and common-sense approach to routine and complex issues.
- Ability to manage multiple projects or assignment.
- Thorough research and problem-solving skills.
- Expert at meeting deadlines while maintaining compliance and regulatory standards.
- Capable of providing a balanced and common-sense approach to routine and complex issues.
- Excel at working well while under pressure.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Bilingual in English & French is an asset
