The Opportunity The Security Specialist plays a critical role in supporting Canopy Growth’s Tiverton facility and reports directly to the Senior Security Manager, Canada. This position is responsible for managing visitor and contractor access, maintaining precise and up‑to‑date security records, and performing routine audits of cameras and security devices to ensure all systems operate reliably. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and thrives in a fast‑paced environment while consistently maintaining high security standards across the site.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact for all access control matters at the Tiverton site.
  • Support visitor and contractor access by issuing appropriate access levels and badges, as required.
  • Maintain the security access records database.
  • Review and address security incident reports promptly and ensure required follow‑up actions are completed.
  • Perform twice‑daily CCTV checks to confirm all cameras are connected and functioning properly.
  • Assist with routine camera system audits.
  • Oversee access permissions and conduct video footage reviews as needed.
  • Conduct regular audits to verify the proper operation of all security devices.
  • Track and action all initiated security incident reports, ensuring a timely resolution.
  • Perform weekly audits of facility access cards and access levels to ensure accuracy.
  • Coordinate and escort Security Integrators during on‑site service calls initiated by Corporate Security.
  • Assist the Senior Security Manager, Canada in internal loss and theft investigations, ensuring all reporting requirements under the Quality Management System and Cannabis Regulations are met.
  • Monitor and respond to alarm activations, completing associated documentation and conducting alarm investigations.
  • Ensure the site’s secure perimeter remains clean and free of debris or overgrowth to minimize false alarms and maintain clear surveillance visibility.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience

  • Diploma or degree in Security Management, Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice, Protective Services, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Experience in security operations or access control within a regulated environment such as pharmaceutical, food production, or manufacturing.
  • Experience with CCTV systems, access control platforms, alarm monitoring, and basic troubleshooting of security devices.
  • Experience working with the programming or installation of security cameras is considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with conducting security audits, reviewing surveillance footage, documenting incidents, and supporting internal investigations.
  • Experience coordinating with external security integrators, service vendors, or regulatory inspectors.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment requiring strict compliance and documentation standards.
  • Cannabis industry experience or knowledge of Cannabis Regulations is considered an asset.

Other Details This is a full-time role based out of Tiverton, ON.

Salary Range: $55,000 – $65,000 CAD
