Capital Contract Specialist (12 Month Contract)

Role Purpose
This is a 12 month contract position. The Capital Contract Specialist will play a critical role in supporting DP World’s Procurement Department in managing contracts and tenders for upcoming major capital projects. This role will focus on developing, managing, and administering Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and other contract-related documentation, ensuring compliance with DP World’s procurement policies while driving efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and value creation.
About the Role
RFP & Contract Management
- Lead the preparation, issuance, and administration of RFIs and RFPs for capital projects.
- Manage the end-to-end contract lifecycle, including drafting, negotiation, award, and renewal processes.
- Ensure alignment of contract terms with project timelines, financial controls, and policy requirements.
Project Support
- Work closely with Project Managers and Engineering teams to ensure procurement activities align with project milestones and deliverables.
- Track and monitor key contractual obligations to mitigate risks and ensure timely delivery.
- Support project budgeting and cost-control initiatives through effective contract management.
Vendor & Performance Management
- Research, evaluate, and negotiate with vendors and contractors to secure best-value outcomes.
- Monitor supplier performance against agreed KPIs and contract deliverables.
- Maintain strong relationships with contractors and service providers while upholding DP World’s standards of ethics and compliance.
Data & Reporting
- Collect, analyze, and report on spend, usage, and vendor performance data to inform procurement strategies.
- Develop KPI’s and report KPI data to the Procurement team and other stakeholders as required.
- Develop dashboards and reports for leadership and stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accountability in contract performance.
- Provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement in procurement and contract management processes.
About You
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operational Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, or another related discipline.
- Procurement Expertise: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in managing the full procurement cycle, preferably within large-scale industrial, infrastructure, or capital project environments.
- Unionized Environment Experience: At least 2 years of demonstrated experience working effectively in a unionized environment, with an understanding of related practices and requirements.
- Professional Certifications (Preferred): Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP), Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS), or equivalent credentials are considered an asset.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of RFP development, contract administration, negotiation, and vendor management. Proficiency with procurement/ERP systems and MS Office applications.
Knowledge and skills
- Organizational & Analytical Strengths: Strong organizational, planning, and analytical skills with keen attention to detail, ensuring procurement and contract workflows are executed efficiently and accurately.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced computer skills, including MS Office Suite, with the proven ability to quickly adapt to new systems, procurement tools, and ERP platforms. Familiarity with Oracle Fusion and Maximo would be an asset.
- Communication & Collaboration: Customer service–oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders.
- Sound Judgment & Decision-Making: Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment within established practices and policies, identifying appropriate methods and techniques to achieve successful outcomes.
- Initiative & Team Contribution: Highly motivated and proactive, capable of working independently with minimal supervision while actively contributing to team objectives and cross-functional initiatives.
- Capital Focus (Preferred): Familiarity with managing RFPs, contracts, and vendor performance in large-scale infrastructure or capital project environments is an asset.
