Maintenance Supervisor
Full-Time (On-site)
Winnipeg, MB
The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for directing the maintenance and repair of the fleet operation (tractors and the trailers) owned by Day & Ross Inc. with the help of a 3rd party maintenance provider. The Maintenance Supervisor will also be responsible for collaborating with the Corporate Maintenance team to help control costs associated with the maintenance and repair of the fleet at their locale. Additionally, this position will be responsible for all aspects of parts inventory management in concert with the 3rd party maintenance provider.
How You’ll Help:

Responsible for the maintenance and repair of all vehicles and equipment owned/leased by Day & Ross.

Utilizes a preventive maintenance program to assure cost effective maintenance and a scheduled maintenance program for the fleet vehicles and equipment.

Monitors use of fleet vehicles and equipment, analyzing utilization and capitalization of vehicles and equipment.

Ensures that all safety practices and policies are enforced.

Ensures that repair reports are accurate for each vehicle or equipment repaired.

Responsible to ensure the parts inventory on hand is accurate and allocated to the correct vehicle.

Maintains knowledge of current industry vehicle and equipment trends and associated maintenance concepts.
Your Skills & Experience:
-
Minimum of secondary education, with preference of post-secondary education in a trailer technician or mechanical repair program.
-
Experience in inventory management and inventory management practices required.
-
At least 5 years of trucking fleet operations, maintenance and repair in the transportation or logistics industry
-
Training and/or certification in refrigeration would be considered an asset.

Knowledge and understanding of safety requirements in a shop environment and ability to uphold a strong safety culture.
-
A suitable combination of education and experience may also be considered.

Communication skills – must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
-
Computer skills – accuracy, MS products, TMT (Trimble Maintenance Management) Truck Mate, web-based programs.

Conflict resolution abilities – ability to resolve conflict and differences with other departments.
-
Able to meet deadlines in high transactional, high speed environment.
-
Ability to multi-task and prioritize work as required.

Strong problem-solving skills.
