About the role
As a Temporary Labourer II , you will work under the general supervision of the Maintenance Manager or Designate, to perform a variety of manual duties, some requiring specific skills and/or expertise related to the construction, alteration and maintenance of grounds, buildings and equipment.
Assignments : Temporary/Seasonal, Monday-Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm from May thru to September
Wage : $27.02 per/hr. plus 10.8% in lieu of vacation and statutory holidays
- Performs manual grounds maintenance duties such as raking and cutting grass (may use a small riding mower), digging and back filling and shoveling and leveling earth, sand, gravel, blacktop, concrete and snow.
- Performs manual duties associated with framing, sheeting, roofing and other building maintenance procedures
- Assists other employees as required.
- Ensures necessary equipment and materials are available for projects that are to be carried out.
- Operates and services light duty equipment and/or tools including an assortment of basic hand tools.
- May on occasion be required to perform other related duties as assigned
Your Education And Experience
- Grade 10 education or the equivalent
- A minimum of one-year related experience
- Must possess and maintain a valid B.C. Class 5 or 7 Driver's License
- Physical capability to perform the job duties
- Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions
- Competent in the use and care of tools and equipment common to this work
