About the role
Overview:
Leon’s is currently looking for an experienced retail professional to fill the exciting role of Area Supervisor in the Quebec area. This challenging position requires results-driven leadership with the talent, drive and determination to help strengthen the Leon’s brand while maintaining our position as leaders within our industry.
The successful candidate will work closely with our senior leaders, operations team, and our sales associate teams throughout Quebec. Extensive travel is required in this role within the province of Quebec.
The successful candidate will:
- Have extensive experience in a senior store leadership role, such as Regional Manager
- Possess excellent leadership and collaboration skills with a proven ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships across diverse groups
- Be a self-starter, detail oriented, and a creative problem solver with extensive knowledge of, and passion for, operations, sales and efficiency
- Manage multiple priorities effectively in an ever-changing environment, and execute large-scale projects involving numerous stakeholders, while maintaining our company’s key values of accountability, service, integrity and innovation
- Identify opportunities to optimize practices driving service excellence and sales growth, ensuring annual growth targets are met and maintained
- Identify, recruit and develop rising stars and high-potentials, motivating and coaching future leaders and preparing them for roles of greater responsibility
- Inspire excellence: lead by example; communicate and demonstrate the highest standards in all areas of our business while remaining approachable, objective and resourceful
- Utilize technologies, including business analytics, to evaluate store performance; drive sustainable, measurable profitability through detailed financial and operating KPIs and metrics
- Engage in challenging discussions when required, for the greater benefit of the company
- Manage crisis situations and associate concerns with efficiency, professionalism and tact
- Constantly analyze productivity and employee engagement within the stores, proactively addressing potential challenges, and resolving any issues head-on, with a sense of urgency
- Communicate with senior leadership regularly, providing consultative insight into productivity and effectiveness on multiple cross-functional initiatives
- Demonstrate strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, including payroll, operating expenses, capital expenditures, and overall cost controls while ensuring business objectives are achieved
- Possess strong warehouse and inventory management knowledge, including experience overseeing large distribution or retail environments with multi-million dollar inventory levels, inventory accuracy, loss prevention, and operational efficiencies
- Support and drive sales performance by coaching leadership teams, identifying opportunities for growth, and implementing strategies that enhance customer experience and overall store profitability
- Lead performance management initiatives by setting clear expectations, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, conducting performance reviews, and implementing performance improvement plans where required
- Drive accountability and operational excellence by monitoring store execution, productivity, and compliance with company standards, while fostering a culture focused on continuous improvement and associate development
- Demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills
- Possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of retail operations within a large-scale retail environment
- 5-10 years of experience managing a multi-store region
- Fully bilingual (English and French)
- Progressive senior leadership experience with a strong focus on team development and performance management
- Proven ability to coach, mentor, and develop leaders, with a demonstrated history of building high-performing teams and supporting career growth
