The Communications and Issues Management branch of Health and Social Services is dedicated to delivering clear, consistent, and impactful communications that support the department’s mission to improve the health and well-being of our communities. Working closely with internal partners and stakeholders, we ensure that information is accessible, engaging, and aligned with departmental priorities. Your Role
As a Communications Analyst with Health and Social Services you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of all Yukoners. You will work closely with passionate and dedicated colleagues who are all committed to the health and wellbeing of their community. You will have opportunities to develop your skills as a strategic and creative communications professional in areas such as media relations, crisis communications, public engagement, social marketing and digital communications. The successful candidate will thrive in a high paced environment and will work collaboratively with our partners to help people access important government services.

Essential qualifications

- Degree in communications, public relations or journalism
- Considerable experience developing and implementing communications strategies
- Experience writing for various audiences and media
- Experience dealing with complex and strategic issues
- Communications experience in a government or large organizational setting

If selected for an interview, candidates should have, and may be assessed on, the following:

- Ability to work well under deadline pressure
- Organizational awareness; sensitivity and understanding structures, processes, culture, relationships and issues

WHMIS 2015 (within one month of hire)
Job Requirements:
Occasional travel within the territory is required. Extended periods of time working at a desk including extended screen time working with computers and other devices.
