In indirect tax at PwC, you will focus value-added tax (VAT), goods and services tax (GST), sales tax and other indirect taxes. Your work will involve providing advice and guidance to clients on indirect tax planning, compliance, and strategy, helping businesses navigate complex indirect tax regulations and optimise their indirect tax positions.
Meaningful work you’ll be a part of As an Indirect Tax Manager , you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. Responsibilities include
- Manage compliance and advisory services for our clients with regard to Canadian indirect taxes, including GST/HST, provincial sales taxes, excise taxes.
- Analyze complex indirect tax engagements, working on M&A activities, domestic and cross-border transactions, audit defense and other key indirect tax aspects of the customers business.
- Develop and provide insight on the benefits we can provide to the business, including a range of meaningful recommendations for our clients that improve their compliance activities.
- Manage multiple sources of information including broader stakeholder views to develop solutions and recommendations.
- Develop a perspective on key global trends, including globalization, and how they impact the firm and our clients.
- Focus on building trusted relationships and upholding the firm’s code of ethics and business conduct.
- Join a fast paced, strategic growth area of the PwC Tax practice.
- This role doesn’t support completion of the Canadian CPA designation.
Experience And Skills You’ll Use To Solve
- A demonstrated commitment to valuing differences, developing and coaching diverse teams, and ensuring diverse perspectives are heard
- An understanding of indirect tax in with an ability to interpret and apply legislation, and a desire to continue improving your knowledge of this sector
- Demonstrated client focus and experience in GST/HST and other sales tax legislation;
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working in a deadline driven environment with an ability to handle multiple assignments and work effectively under pressure.
- Attention to detail, ability to think creatively, and solve complex problems with innovative solutions.
