About the role

Note - This is a temporary position

The Cash & Events Manager is responsible for the daily operations and management of the cash department team members and processes within the store. The role is responsible for implementing and following the practices and daily routines of till operations including customer experience, deposits, till transactions, and returns. The role oversees the Customer Service desk and function within the store. The role partners with other functional groups within the company to carry out store events including public lectures.

Responsibilities

Cash & Till Management

  • Ensure staff members are trained to successfully complete till operations
  • Oversee adherence to cash handling policies and procedures including deposits and other financial reports

Customer Service

  • Ensure customers have a positive experience when shopping at Community Natural Foods by being both the first and last point of contact
  • Ensure all department staff are trained and able to successfully listen to and resolve customer concerns

Events

  • Support marketing and purchasing divisions in the setup and tear down of in store events
  • Carry out marketing and registration for in store events including public lectures

Staff Management

  • Building strong team dynamic amongst cash department staff
  • Provide feedback consistently and effectively to staff members
  • Recruit and select team members through application screening, interviews, and reference checks
  • Set expectations for staff and hold them accountable to these expectations
  • Schedule work and shifts appropriately to meet store needs
  • Oversee all HR decisions and administration for Cash department

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years management experience in the Grocery Industry or Related Industry
  • In depth knowledge of the Natural Foods Industry and its products
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Self motivated
  • Demonstrated leadership ability
  • Proven public relations ability
  • Above average Management Skills
  • Hiring, training and disciplinary experience
  • 3 – 5 years cash handling experience
  • Experience in an environment where customer service was a priority
  • Computer knowledge
