Located in Sidney, British Columbia on Vancouver Island, Nicholson Manufacturing Ltd is a global leader in the design, manufacture, and service of ring debarking equipment for the forestry industry.

Nicholson Manufacturing Ltd. is the leading manufacturer of log debarking machines that are used around the world in sawmills, OSB, plywood and pulp mills. Established in 1948, the company operates a 110,000 square foot facility in Sidney to support machining, fabrication and assembly of new OEM equipment and aftermarket part sales

Nicholson Manufacturing Ltd is located on Vancouver Island in Sidney, British Columbia and has an opening for a full-time, permanent Buyer in our Supply Chain Department. The position offers a competitive salary and benefits package.

This position offers a salary in the range of $70,000 to $92,000 annually, based on experience and demonstrated skills. Includes extended health benefits and company-matched Group RSP program.

Responsibilities:

The Supply Chain Buyer will report to the Supply Chain Manager at Nicholson Manufacturing Ltd (NML). This position will be responsible for supply chain activities related to ordering direct and indirect material requirements to support manufacturing, aftermarket sales, maintenance and general supply needs of NML operations.

  • Accurately enter and maintain purchase orders, confirmations, open orders.
  • Resolve issues related to receiving and invoice matching.
  • Maintain part master data.
  • Manage supplier cost, quality and delivery performance.
  • Maintain supplier information, price lists and contact information for assigned suppliers.
  • Manage supplier returns and warranty claims.
  • Support ongoing and annual inventory count process.
  • Work on special projects as required.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency using ERP systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Team spirit and strong collaboration skills.
