About the role

We are currently seeking the qualifications and expertise of an Accountant based out of our Labrador City, NL Operations.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

Assist in daily maintenance of accounting records (including but not limited to journal entries, reconciliations, petty cash, capital assets, inventory adjustments) Prepare monthly / quarterly financial statements and review with Management. Perform internal audit procedures Maintain year-end working papers and spreadsheets, and assist with preparation for any audits or independent reviews Complete monthly reconciliation for all GL Control accounts and Banks Development, analysis, and interpretation of statistical and accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the organization Provide timely and accurate service to internal clients and stakeholders Sundry duties as required by the Department Other duties as required

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, And Experience

CPA designation, CPA candidate, or actively pursuing a CPA designation. Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and relevant accounting experience will be considered. 2–5 years of accounting, financial reporting, bookkeeping, or related experience preferred. Bilingual in French and English is an asset Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines. Proficiency in accounting principles, financial analysis, reconciliations, and financial reporting. Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships across departments. Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Excel considered an asset.
