About the Role

The Ottawa Senators are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Manager, Marketing to lead the execution of cross-functional marketing initiatives from concept to completion. This is an excellent opportunity to join an NHL franchise at a mid-level position which will allow the candidate to become fully engaged in the business of a major league sports team. In this newly created role, reporting to the Senior Director of Marketing, you will play a critical part in building & maintaining a project management framework that ensures all projects are executed on time, within scope, and aligned with strategic priorities across the organization.

This role serves as the connective tissue for the organization between creative, digital, ticketing, corporate partnerships and all other channel teams—bringing clarity, structure, and momentum to a fast-paced sports and entertainment environment. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative setting, has a proven track record designing & implementing project management framework, and is passionate about enabling teams to do their best work through strong process and communication.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management Framework & Process

  • Design, implement, and continuously evolve project management templates and workflows that bring consistency, efficiency, KPI tracking, and clarity across the organization.

  • Ensure projects that are managed through the existing MSRP framework are aligned with organizational priorities and are integrated & tracked through a commercial calendar.

  • Establish best practices for project scoping, sprint planning timelines, dependencies, risk management, and approvals to reduce ambiguity and improve efficiency.

  • Ensure projects are properly prioritized and aligned with organizational goals, KPIs, seasonal strategies, and key campaign moments.

  • Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and process breakdowns, and proactively recommend improvements that enhance collaboration, transparency, and execution quality.

Asana Dashboard & Workflow Management

  • Own the structure, governance, and ongoing optimization of Asana as the central project management platform for the organization.

  • Design, maintain, and evolve channel-specific dashboards that provide clear visibility into project status, priorities, timelines, and ownership across all marketing functions.

  • Ensure all projects are accurately scoped, briefed, and tracked through standardized workflows, milestones, and dependencies within Asana.

  • Monitor project health in real time, proactively flagging risks, bottlenecks, and misalignment before they impact delivery.

  • Leverage Asana reporting and insights to identify trends in throughput, cycle time, and resource constraints, and recommend workflow improvements to increase efficiency and speed.

  • Drive alignment, accountability, and clear communication across departments to ensure seamless execution of marketing initiatives.

  • Facilitate regular status updates, stakeholder check-ins, and post-project reviews to maintain transparency and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 3-5+ years of project management experience, ideally within marketing, creative agencies, sports, entertainment, or a fast-paced consumer brand.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Formal training in project management tools/workflows (e.g., Asana, Agile, Scrum) is required.

  • Project Management certification (PMP, CAPM, Agile, or similar) is an asset.

  • English/French bilingual is an asset

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and process-driven with excellent communication skills.

  • Confident in navigating complex professional environments while maintaining structure and accountability

This role falls within a base salary range of $62,100 to $95,000 annually, consistent with the organization’s established salary ranges. Salary ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to market data, internal equity, education, relevant experience, knowledge, and applicable skillset.
