We are looking for a Manager, Health Informatics and Reporting to join our team!
The Manager, Health Informatics & Reporting, is responsible for leading the organization’s reporting strategy, data quality initiatives, and effective use of the Client/Clinical Record Management System (CRMS) across community health programs. As a key leader within the Health Information Management Team, the Manager oversees a multidisciplinary team responsible for reporting, EMR support, data governance, and workflow optimization.
This role ensures the accuracy, integrity, and accessibility of data used for regulatory reporting, quality improvement, performance measurement, and decision-making. The Manager collaborates closely with clinical leaders, operations, IT, analytics, and external vendors to drive digital health improvements, strengthen reporting capabilities, and enhance system usability across the organization.
Status: Permanent full-time, 37.5 hours per week, evening hours and weekends may be required; Note, this posting is for an active vacancy
Salary: $93,132.41 - $109,567.54 annually (Candidate qualifications will be considered when determining the starting salary)
Location: This position is based out of our 7700 Hurontario St., Brampton office. Although we operate within a hybrid workplace model, staff are required to have on-site and/or community presence as per program and client needs.
What You Will Do:
- Participate in (or lead) committees related to digital health, EMR optimization, data governance, and reporting modernization.
- Work with leadership and program managers to identify priority reporting and informatics needs and translate them into actionable projects.
- Contribute to long-term planning for EMR (CRMS) enhancement, data architecture modernization, analytics expansion, and digital transformation initiatives.
- Apply UX principles and UAT processes to ensure high-quality, user-friendly system changes.
- Provide day-to-day leadership, supervision, coaching, and performance management to EMR support staff, informatics analysts, and data/reporting personnel.
- Oversee workload distribution, team priorities, and resource planning to ensure timely completion of reporting deliverables and system-related initiatives.
- Oversee the creation, validation, and delivery of all recurring and ad hoc reports, dashboards, and regulatory submissions.
- Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with community health program requirements, quality initiatives, and funder expectations.
- Lead the development of new reporting frameworks, KPIs, and performance indicators in collaboration with clinical and operational leaders.
- Direct staff in data extraction, preparation, manipulation, and visualization using SQL/MySQL, Power BI, Excel, or other reporting tools.
- Lead the design, implementation, and continuous optimization of participant record and case management systems, ensuring alignment with service delivery needs, reporting requirements, quality improvement goals, and PHIPA and information security standards.
- Manage relationships with external database vendors and system administrators, including negotiating and monitoring service agreements to ensure system performance, reliability, and support.
- Oversee EMR user provisioning, role-based access, onboarding, and permission management across all community programs.
- Analyze clinical and operational workflows to identify gaps, redundancies, and opportunities for informatics-driven improvements.
- Lead the standardization of documentation workflows, data definitions, and reporting practices across departments.
- Manage small to medium-sized projects involving reporting improvements, workflow redesign, or EMR enhancements.
- Oversee project planning, communication, timelines, risk mitigation, and post-implementation evaluations.

What You Need to Join Our Team:
- Bachelor’s degree in health informatics, information systems, healthcare administration, public health, nursing, or a related field.
- Master’s degree in health informatics, analytics, health administration, or a related field preferred.
- Relevant professional certifications, such as CHDA, CAHIMS, or CPHIMS preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in health informatics, EMR/CRM systems, healthcare reporting, or healthcare operations.
- Minimum of 3 years of formal or informal leadership experience, including supervising a human resources team, program development and day-to-day operations.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, either formally supervising staff or informally leading informatics or reporting functions.
- Extensive experience developing, producing, and presenting healthcare or community health reports.
- Strong user-centered design mindset with a focus on usability and practical application.
- Proficiency with reporting tools and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Advanced knowledge of SharePoint and knowledge management systems considered an asset.
- Solid understanding of data governance, privacy requirements, and health information standards.
- Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to approach, listen, build trust, and communicate across diverse cultures and intersectionality. Willingness to continually improve understanding around cultural competence.
- Openness to operate from an anti-racist, anti-oppressive, 2SLGBTQ+ affirming and intersectional framework.
- Willingness to learn and apply practical understanding of different elements of diversity, such as gender identity/expression, race/cultural background, religion, sexual orientation, disability, immigration and precarious status, family status, etc.
- Fluency in a second language, including ASL (American Sign Language) is considered an asset.
- Ability to travel within and around Peel Region and Dufferin County is required
- A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Screening (Police Check) report.
