Status: Temporary Full-Time
Site: The Michener Institute
Salary: $40.04 - $42.48 per hour (To commensurate with experience)
Hours: 35 hours

Job Description

  • Teach assigned laboratory/practical/simulation sessions (including online course delivery) as per Michener course management policy

  • Provide guidance and advisement to students, as required

  • Foster knowledge building and transfer including practical skills, methods and techniques

  • Challenge thought processes, fosters collaboration, and develops the ability of students to engage in critical and rational thinking

  • Supervise, provide guidance and advisement, where required, for student projects

  • Set, mark, and assess work and examinations and provide timely and constructive feedback to students

  • Determine and submit final course grades

  • Maintain identified office hours for student support in the areas of remediation, advisement, and learning plan development and documentation of student progress

  • Participate in scholarship and research activity

  • Willingness to complete courses in curriculum design and development as well as IPC certificate

Qualifications

  • Completion of undergraduate degree and relevant diploma or equivalent

  • Registered in good standing with the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in the field of Radiation Therapy

  • Experience working as a Radiation Therapist in treatment planning and/or CT-Simulation would be considered an asset

  • Current membership with Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists preferred

  • An understanding and commitment to learning centered education

  • Strong organizational and leadership skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • An ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Satisfactory Canadian Police Clearance document required upon hire
