Position Summary Front Shop Specialist, OP Pharmacy The Front Shop Specialist is responsible for processing customer transactions, ordering, receiving and restocking front shop products and ensuring inventory levels are maintained and accurately tracked. This role ensures products are merchandised effectively, ensuring product presentation is optimized and the pharmacy’s front shop services are promoted. The Front Shop Specialist will be responsible for contract management of new products, liaising with hospital clinics and departments to explore new opportunities and implement new initiatives to better serve the needs of customers, staff, physicians and volunteers at the hospital. This position contributes to the shared responsibility of ensuring health and safety policies are followed to provide for a healthy environment for patients, staff, physicians, volunteers and families.

On a practical level, you will

  • Ordering and receiving front shop products, contract management of new products, in accordance with the hospital’s procurement process for pharmaceutical purchasing
  • Processing customer transactions, modifying displays to meet customer needs
  • Connect with hospital clinics to ensure front shop product line meets needs of hospital’s physicians, nurses and patients; working with NYGH corporate communications in promoting front shop; merchandising of products to ensure product presentation is optimized
  • Inventory control – maintaining accurate inventory levels in POS, assisting with front shop annual inventory, assist in month end billing and reporting
  • Responsible for training pharmacy technicians on front shop inventory, supervising volunteers and co-op students
  • Maintain vending machines throughout hospital, maintaining online store

Qualifications

  • Diploma in business or a retail related field
  • Three to five years retail related experience
  • Minimum three years product management experience in the retail industry
  • Financial acumen
  • Sales and leadership ability
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to effectively multitask and adapt to change
  • Problem solving and analytical skills
