Working in a team-oriented environment, the Stress Engineering Intern Student will assist in the strength and fatigue analysis of Landing Gear Systems. Reporting to the Stress Lead Stress Engineering Intern Student will support all active programs within the Stress Engineering Group.
Collins Landing Gear Stress Department is looking for a highly energetic, motivated, detail-oriented engineering student to fill our co-op
position. Landing gear structural engineers are responsible for evaluating landing gear components’ ability to withstand aircraft operating loading conditions.
Primary Responsibilities
- Static and fatigue stress analysis using classical techniques.
- Static and fatigue stress analysis using FEA based techniques.
- Assisting Senior engineers with evaluations of non-conforming parts.
- Updating stress analyses to current configurations.
- Writing and assembling stress analysis reports.
Basic Qualifications
- Must be pursuing a bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable engineering discipline.
- Completion of Statics, Dynamics, and Mechanics of Materials engineering courses
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Great interpersonal and communication skills.
- Successful candidates must meet all requirements under ITAR and CGD as well as be eligible to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of MS Office programs, including Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis and CATIA.
