Position Overview
A Drywall/Taper is responsible for helping those who have been affected by fire or flood damage either in residential or commercial environments.
Duties and Responsibilities…
Drywall
- Assist with hanging, taping and sanding drywall
- Minor repairs (patch, ready to paint, texture)
- Cut and install drywall
- Install corner bead
- Deshield drywall application
- Perform major repairs using fast set to prepare paint/texture
- Texture blend
- Tape, coat, skim, sand to prepare for paint
- Install T-bar grid/ ceiling tile
- Finishing arches
Taper
- Tape, coat, and skim drywall joints to a smooth finish
- Sand joints and surfaces in preparation for paint
- Apply multiple coats of compound as required
- Ensure joints are flush, smooth, and free of defects
- Perform texture blending to match existing finishes
- Prepare drywall for final paint or texture application
Documentation
- Consistently submit accurate documentation
- Ensure timely updated pictures are submitted
- Able to complete SSA
- Able to read and interpret HMI Reports
Communication
- Communicate with client and Project Management teams
Health and Safety
- Ensure that self and others adhere to Lydale’s health and safety practices and procedures
- Ensure good housekeeping is kept to perform work safely and efficiently
- Understand safety policies and protocols
- Ensure that self and others on site are wearing all required PPE, when required
Who we are looking for:
A personable and well-organized individual who pays attention to detail and has excellent data entry skills. Someone who has a professional manner and is able to interact with employers and vendors daily. Experienced in working in a fast- paced environment. Other important attributes of a future Canstar Reconstruction Technician are:
- 5 – 10 years of experience preferred
- The physical ability to bend, reach, lift 50 pounds safely and repeatedly and stand throughout your shift
- A driver’s license and personal truck/cargo van/minivan or vehicle large enough to transport 4x8 sheets of drywall and to attend jobsites is a must (generous monthly vehicle allowance is provided)
- An eagerness to bulk your paycheck with overtime hours as we are a 24/7 emergency services company, and all positions will have a component of on-call work on a rotational basis
- A great attitude and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done and serve our customers
- The ability to wear personal protective equipment to keep you safe on site, including a respirator.
- We enter people’s homes, so a clean criminal record as it relates to work and a driver’s abstract with only minor infractions is required
Working Conditions:
- Travel within the metropolitan area and client offices is required
- Must be flexible to work overtime, evenings, and weekends on occasion
