About the role

Applications are invited for four (4) regular part time positions of Clinical Liaison in the Myhal School of Nursing, operating in a remote work environment. The starting hourly rate is $28.44/hr ($28.44 – $33.10) for a 12-hour work week. Additional hours may be required as necessary, and hours of work will have varying shifts including days, evenings, and weekends. Hours will be reduced during non-clinical periods throughout the academic year by up to 10 weeks in the calendar year.

Reporting to the Associate Director, Post Graduate Studies & Clinical Education, the successful candidate will play a vital role in bridging academic programming with experiential clinical education off campus. They will be responsible for facilitating effective communication and collaboration between the Myhal School of Nursing, clinical students, preceptors, and agency administration, to ensure high-quality clinical preceptorship experience.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Work collaboratively with academic administrators, program staff, related college departments and community partners to achieve goals of the organization
  • Act as the primary liaison among the college, clinical sites, nursing students, and preceptors to support successful clinical and consolidation placements
  • Monitor and support student progress via electronic communication during clinical and consolidating experiences, addressing concerns in collaboration with preceptors, agency administrator, NC faculty and administration
  • Facilitate remote telephone meetings with preceptors and students to check in on students’ progress throughout the term
  • Conduct on-site agency visits if deemed necessary in collaboration with the Associate Director
  • Monitor student completion of assigned certification/training
  • Support students in following incident reporting to agency administrator/staff and complete incident reports

Qualifications:

  • Current registration in good standing with the CNO as a Nurse Practitioner, Registered Nurse, or Registered Practical Nurse
  • Two (2) year diploma in Nursing or equivalent
  • Two (2) years of recent, relevant clinical experience and extensive knowledge of nursing in various settings
  • Experience using Health Information Systems (HIS)
  • Class “G” license and access to vehicle or ability to arrange own transportation to attend assigned location(s) if required
  • Ability to think critically, prioritize responsibilities, and demonstrate initiative and flexibility in problem solving
