Claims Support Specialist: On behalf of our Consulting client, Procom is searching for a Claims Support Specialist for a 3-month role. This position is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.
Claims Support Specialist - Job Description: The Claims Support Specialist will be part of a high-profile claim processing initiative, providing both autonomous and collaborative support in a fast-paced environment. The role involves ensuring accurate, timely, and efficient claims processing, while responding empathetically to claimant inquiries, maintaining professionalism and a commitment to service excellence.
Claims Support Specialist - Responsibilities:
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail, email, faxes, and phone communications
- Enter, review, and verify data from electronic and paper forms
- Scan, file, and store sensitive materials securely
- Answer incoming calls professionally and empathetically
- Contact class members for necessary documentation and confirmations
- Prepare and send notifications regarding claim status
- Ensure adherence to company policies and privacy laws
- Escalate high-risk or complex cases as needed
Claims Support Specialist - Mandatory Skills:
- 1+ year of experience communicating over the phone
- Must be Bilingual (French/English)
- Experience in data entry
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Experience using a VOIP / Internet phone service
Claims Support Specialist – Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Ability to speak an Indigenous language (Cree, Inuktitut, Ojibway, etc.)
- Knowledge of Indigenous culture
- Experience managing claims over the phone
- Emotional resilience in managing difficult conversations
- Discretion and thoughtfulness in written communication
Claims Support Specialist – Assignment Length: This is a 3-month contract with a possible extension up to 12 months.
Claims Support Specialist - Start Date: ASAP.
Claims Support Specialist - Assignment Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days onsite.
