Description:
In keeping with the Covenant Health’s Mission and Values and as an integral member of the Nutrition Food, Laundry and Environmental Services team, the Supervisor, is responsible for organizing and supervising the activities which support the provision of quality food, linen, and housekeeping services, to the patients/residents/and visitors of the Bonnyville Health Center. The Supervisor recruits, orientates, coordinates the training, supervises, evaluates and disciplines all direct employees. The supervisor is responsible for monitoring operational targets and making adjustments in daily work to achieve those targets, ensuring safe work practices and safe functioning of equipment in each area. The supervisor leads and/or participates in departmental meetings and programs, and performs other duties as required. Tasks are completed using electronic programs whenever available. All tasks are to be completed with minimal supervision and following all applicable policies and standard operating procedures. This position is non-unionized.
Classification: Supervisor Union: COV OUT OF SCOPE Unit and Program: NFLES Primary Location: Bonnyville Health Centre Location Details: As Per Location Employee Class: Regular Part Time FTE: 0.60 Posting End Date: 14-JUL-2026 Date Available: 27-JUL-2026 Hours per Shift: 6.25, 6.75 Length of Shift in weeks: 2 Shifts per cycle: 8 Shift Pattern: Days Days Off: As Per Rotation Minimum Hourly Salary: $29.87 Maximum Hourly Salary: $44.81 Vehicle Requirement: Not Applicable
Required Qualifications:
Proficiency in office procedures and computer applications in a Windows environment including word processing, spreadsheets, data bases, Email, Internet and staff scheduling programs. Demonstrated ability in coaching, teaching and facilitating. Excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Self-motivated and self-directed. Strong commitment to customer satisfaction and quality assurance. Strong organizational skills. Excellent time management skills. Demonstrated ability to contribute and function as part of a team. Supports a multidisciplinary approach to patient care. Displays a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Able to handle multiple demands concurrently. Able to apply leadership skills appropriate to the situation. Displays flexibility and professional approach to decision making and conflict resolution.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years recent experience in a supervisory capacity, required. Minimum 3 years' experience of related health care experience, required. Experience in employee scheduling, required. Experience in conducting customer satisfaction surveys/quality audits, required. Experienced in customer relations, required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Completion of a two-year Food Service Management course or equivalent management training preferred. Food Safe certificate, preferred. Working knowledge of interpreting collective agreements. Current knowledge and comprehension of hospital cleaning guidelines and familiarity with cleaning chemicals used in the healthcare setting. Current knowledge and comprehension of dietary guidelines and food services terminology.
