About the role

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We’re looking for a Recruiter to join our HR Team in a full-time, 12 to 18-month placement starting in November. As an office-first company, we believe in the energy and connection that comes from working together in person, and you’ll be part of a collaborative environment where your expertise in connecting people with opportunity will have an immediate and meaningful impact.

If you’re looking to broaden your HR experience with an organization, take on a role with clear impact, and strengthen your portfolio of recruitment achievements, this contract could be a perfect fit. You’ll gain exposure to diverse hiring needs, partner closely with leaders, and play a key role in shaping the candidate experience at Genoa.

While this is a temporary placement, you’ll walk away with new skills, new stories, and the chance to leave your mark with a company recently recognized as one of Canada’s Top Small & Medium Employers, reflecting our ongoing commitment to an exception workplace culture.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Talent Attraction & Sourcing

  • Develop and execute recruitment strategies to attract top talent.
  • Proactively source candidates through a variety of channels, including social media, job boards, referrals, and professional networks.
  • Represent Genoa at job fairs, industry events, and networking functions to strengthen our talent pipeline and employer brand.

Recruitment & Selection

  • Collaborate with Hiring Managers to understand recruitment needs.
  • Review resumes and conduct interviews to assess candidate fit.
  • Oversee the selection process, including assessments, and reference checks.

Onboarding & Candidate Experience

  • Coordinate and support onboarding activities to set new hires up for success.
  • Champion a positive candidate experience that is engaging and inclusive at every stage of the recruitment journey.

Metrics & Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor and report on recruitment metrics to evaluate hiring effectiveness.
  • Collect feedback and provide ideas to continuously improve processes and practices.

Collaboration & Support

  • Handle sensitive candidate and employee information with professionalism.
  • Pitch in on additional HR projects and team initiatives as needed.

ABOUT YOU

  • You bring at least 2 years of hands-on experience in full-cycle recruitment and have a good grasp of HR practices.
  • Formal HR or Business education is a bonus, but not a must.
  • Bonus points if you’ve supported recruitment in a project-driven setting — though it’s not required.
  • You’re someone who thrives in a team environment but can also manage their own work with confidence.
  • Tech doesn’t scare you — you’re comfortable juggling different software tools and know your way around an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) – bonus if it’s Dayforce.
  • You’re a natural communicator who builds trust and strong relationships with candidates and Hiring Managers.
  • You stay organized and flexible, keeping cool when priorities shift.
  • You care deeply about creating a positive experience for candidates and hiring teams.
  • You’re confident representing an organization at career fairs and networking events.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Competitive salary and benefits.
  • Comprehensive health insurance and Employee & Family Assistance Program.
  • Generous paid time off.
  • Wellness initiatives and programs to support your overall health.
  • Recognition and rewards for a job well done.
  • Volunteer community engagement opportunities.
  • Training and development opportunities.
  • Fun team building and company-wide social events.
