At our facility in Port Perry, we employ a large staff of Mechanical, Acoustical, Software and Electrical engineers who utilize cutting edge tools and techniques to develop industry leading professional audio products. Our large, vertically integrated manufacturing facility offers our team the benefit of rapid prototyping and the ability to not compromise on design.

From ideation, simulation, prototyping to production, the engineering team is the core of what we do. Our team of motivated professionals work together to advance the technology currently available in the market.

We are currently seeking an experienced Software Engineer to help build the custom Manufacturing Execution System (MES), crucial to monitoring and reporting on the efficiency of our production efforts and workforce.

Duties & Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and enhance MES applications that support manufacturing execution, production tracking, quality workflows, and operational reporting. Build backend services, APIs, and database-driven applications using Python, Django, SQL, and PostgreSQL. Design and implement responsive user interfaces for shop floor operators, engineers, supervisors, and management using ReactJS and JavaScript. Integrate MES applications with business systems, databases, equipment interfaces, and real-time communication protocols such as MQTT. Create dashboards, reports, and monitoring tools using Grafana, InfluxDB, and related technologies. Support database design, data modeling, query optimization, and time-series data management. Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and deliver reliable corrective actions. Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, engineering, and IT teams to understand requirements and deliver practical solutions. Participate in code reviews, testing, documentation, deployment, and continuous improvement of software development practices.

Technology Requirements

Python and Django – Strong experience developing maintainable backend applications and services. REST APIs – Ability to design, build, test, and support API integrations. SQL and PostgreSQL – Experience designing schemas, writing efficient queries, and managing relational databases. InfluxDB – Experience with time-series data collection, storage, and analysis is an asset. ReactJS and JavaScript – Ability to build responsive, user-friendly web applications. MQTT – Experience with real-time communication protocols; RabbitMQ, Kafka, or OPC-UA experience is an asset. Grafana – Ability to create dashboards and monitor application or production performance. Docker, Nginx, and CI/CD – Experience containerizing, deploying, and maintaining applications in production environments. Linux/Ubuntu – Experience managing servers and services is considered an asset.

Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field. Minimum of 5 years of software development experience, preferably in a manufacturing, automation, industrial, or production environment. Experience with MES, ERP, SCADA, production tracking, quality systems, or shop floor applications is considered a strong asset. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex software, database, and system integration issues. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Strong communication skills and the ability to translate manufacturing requirements into practical software solutions. Attention to detail, ownership mindset, and commitment to building reliable systems for production use.
