Make a real impact with your financial expertise. As Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) at SMS Equipment in Acheson, AB, you’ll guide budgeting and forecasting, provide actionable insights to support business decisions, and collaborate with your team to drive results.
This role is a 16 month parental leave and offers a hybrid work arrangement, giving you the flexibility to work from home two days per week.
Location: Acheson, AB
What You’ll Do
- Build trusted partnerships with leaders, providing actionable financial insights and recommendations.
- Assess financial risks and opportunities, including P&L, balance sheet, contracts, and tenders, and support mitigation strategies.
- Lead monthly financial close, analyze variances, and deliver clear reporting to leadership and operating groups.
- Drive the annual budgeting process and continuously improve forecasting for accuracy and efficiency.
- Identify and support cost-reduction opportunities while enabling informed, profitable business decisions.
- Support Corporate Finance initiatives, including insurance renewals, credit reviews, capital projects, and compliance (JSOX, BPTR, ERCR).
- Champion automation, process improvements, and efficiency in reporting and analysis.
- Coach and mentor your team to deliver high-quality analysis and excellent internal customer service.
What You Bring
- 3 years experience with a CPA designation.
- Budgeting, and financial analysis within a complex business environment.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Proven leadership skills, with experience coaching and mentoring team members.
- A collaborative and proactive approach to partnering with operational and corporate teams.
- High attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and a drive to improve processes.
