Inventory Planning Specialist

Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) currently has an exciting full-time permanent opportunity to support our Sales & Inventory Planning department. This job opportunity will report to the Manager, Inventory Planning The selected candidate will assist achievement of “Right Car, Right Place, Right Time” through ordering, forecasting, and distribution of vehicles.

What You’ll be Doing:
- Dealer Allocation: Drive the allocation of vehicles to dealers, ensuring fair distribution by demand, capacity, and corporate goals. Handle repossession/wholesale requests, and allocation adjustments. Maintain transparency through reporting and communication with Zones and Dealers.
- Production & Ordering: Oversee monthly production ordering and allocation cycles, including timelines, configuration changes, new model launches, ETAs, shipments, and special vehicle requests.
- Inventory & Sales Analysis: Assess sales performance (mix, velocity, allocation) to inform production forecasts. Oversee incoming and on-ground inventory, producing reports to guide efficient inventory management.
- Launch Planning: Act as the allocation spearhead for new vehicle launches, coordinating with Product Planning and Sales Division. Participate in Launch Committees to align ordering and allocation strategies with corporate goals.
- Collaboration & Guidance: Partner with TMNA and cross-functional teams (Marketing, PR, Technical Training, Logistics, Zones) on projects and special requests.
- Continuous Improvement & Systems: Maintain key systems (S4/IBP, BI, FOT) and drive process improvements (PDCA/Kaizen) across ordering and allocation activities.
- Other: Conduct ad-hoc studies and plan for long-term production planning initiatives
What You’ll Bring:
- College/University degree/diploma in business, automotive marketing, or similar discipline.
- Preferably three years’ related experience in Automotive Sales / Inventory / Marketing or similar discipline.
- Knowledge of vehicle ordering and distribution.
- Microsoft Office with focus on strong Excel knowledge.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication.
- Proven aptitude for initiating and improving processes to increase efficiencies.
