Your Role in Supporting Our Members:

The Senior Business Systems Analyst will be responsible for analyzing complex business requirements and translating them into technical solution designs, involving intricate problem solving to address both business needs and technical constraints. This role will require navigating high-level challenges, often involving system integrations, scalability concerns, and optimizing workflows to meet organizational objectives.

This is a Full-time, Permanent role based at our Vancity head office and will report directly to the Senior Manager, Digital Platforms. While this position provides a hybrid work arrangement, you will be expected to be on-site for events and business demands

How You'll Make an Impact:

  • Finalize Business Requirements: Review and finalize business requirements, and manage product backlog items to enhance customer experiences and achieve business objectives.
  • Risk and Gap Assessment: Identify and assess risks and gaps during development, seeking direction from IT leaders as needed.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Inform and engage key stakeholders on product and service development to ensure strong collaboration and timely communication.
    • System Capability Review: Assess Commercial Online Banking platform capabilities and translate complex commercial banking requirements into technical specifications for enhancements, integrations, and new features.
  • Solution Analysis: Provide potential solutions and recommended approaches through impact and value analysis, considering digital user journeys, complex commercial banking workflows, and operational implications.
  • Integration & Vendor Management: Collaborate with Technology departments and an external SaaS vendor to customize and deliver the Commercial Online Banking platform, integrating with existing platforms (e.g., Temenos) via API microservices.
  • Commercial Payments Enablement: Lead requirements and functional design for complex commercial banking payment capabilities, including eTransfer upgrades and transactions such as Wires, EFT, and CRA payments, ensuring secure, compliant, and reliable processing across integrated systems.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Maintain comprehensive documentation of processes and ensure adherence to company policies and industry regulations.
  • Technical Coaching: Offer advice and guidance to Digital Platform Analysts and provide technical coaching to business stakeholders and project team members to achieve team deliverables and objectives.

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a business analyst, systems analyst, or similar role.
  • Willingness to work in a highly flexible environment with multiple competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing or enhancing a commercial/corporate online banking platform, including front-end journey design and integration to backend/core systems.
  • Proven ability to innovate and adapt to the latest developments in the area of expertise. Ability to grasp new skills and content quickly.
  • Advanced Database Query Strategies: Demonstrates advanced knowledge of database query strategies and techniques.
  • Data Retrieval from Diverse Sources: Skilled in retrieving data from various sources, including reviewing server logs.
  • Report Generation and Data Presentation: Capable of generating comprehensive reports and effectively presenting data findings to stakeholders.
  • Web Analytics and Accessibility: Proficient in understanding and applying web analytics and web accessibility standards.
  • API Design, Swagger, and Data Mapping: Proficient in API design, using Swagger, and data mapping.
  • Managing Mobile App Stores: Maintain and manage mobile app stores, including App Store Connect and Google Play Store, ensuring timely updates and compliance with platform guidelines.

Extra Skills That Set You Apart:

  • Business Analysis or IT & Process related certifications (CBAP, AAC, ITIL Foundation, CISA) are an asset.
  • Experience in product implementation (e.g., Salesforce, CRM, Contact Centre technologies).
  • Experience working in the financial industry in Retail or Commercial Banking

What You’ll Earn:

This role offers a salary range of $92,700 to $115,000 per annum. The base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
