Job Description
The Department of Historical Studies at the University of Toronto Mississauga invites applications for a full-time tenure-stream position in Late Antiquity. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor and will begin on July 1, 2024.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Late Antiquity.
- Supervise graduate students and contribute to the academic community.
- Engage in service to the department, university, and the broader academic community.
Required Qualifications
- A PhD in History or a related field by the time of appointment.
- A strong record of research and publication in Late Antiquity.
- Evidence of teaching excellence at the university level.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with interdisciplinary approaches to Late Antiquity.
- Ability to teach courses in related fields such as Early Christianity or Byzantine Studies.
