Position - Continuing Teacher
Assignment Type - Continuing
FTE/Point Time - 0.375 FTE
**Schedule: **Semester II (3 blocks only - 0.375) - Blocks 1, 3 and 4
Qualifications
All postings require:
- A valid BC Teaching Certificate
- Commitment to support the full range of student abilities
- Effective communication skills with students, parents and colleagues
- Commitment to continuing professional development
- Successful experience with adapting and modifying materials for a diversity of learners
- Working knowledge of using computing technology to support learning
- A commitment to the Principles of Inclusive Schools and Principles of Learning
Specific to this posting:
- Bachelor of Education (Secondary)
- BCIT Technology Education Teacher Certification or equivalent training and qualifications
- Two years successful experience teaching Tech Ed at the secondary school level
- Thorough knowledge of the Tech Ed curriculum
- Familiarity with WHMIS, MSDS, and appropriate health and safety regulations in a shop/lab
- Demonstrated successful experience implementing and maintaining safety procedures
- A high level of proficiency with computers in their use for instructional support
- Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work with a wide range of students in a positive and active learning environment
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Ability to adjust curriculum and assessment strategies to meet the needs of a wide range of students
