As an Associate, Restructuring your responsibilities will include:

  • Liaise with stakeholders to administer insolvency proceedings in compliance with the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act.
  • Prepare and process legal forms and official documentation for insolvency filings with the Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy.
  • Collaborate with team members to resolve engagement issues and escalate complex matters to Managers and Trustees.
  • Deliver responsive client service and adapt to the needs of debtors and internal teams.
  • Maintain engagement files, manage electronic filing systems, and oversee file destruction processes.
  • Draft, edit, and proof reports, proposals, and marketing materials with strong attention to detail and formatting standards.
  • Manage contacts and prospects in the CRM system and assist with client billings in compliance with firm standards.
  • Prepare and submit time and expense reports accurately and on schedule.
  • Participate in training to stay current with firm software and procedures.
  • Support Partners, Principals, and Managers in producing high-quality client deliverables.
  • Perform other duties as required to support engagement and office operations.

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma, preferably in business or accounting
  • 1-2 years of experience in a business setting, public practice is an asset
  • Obtained (or willing to enroll in and complete) the Insolvency Administrator program to grow a career in Insolvency
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook & Excel
  • Organized, detail oriented, and works well in a deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and think pragmatically
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn on the job
  • Flexible and comfortable in a fast-changing environment
  • Works well in a team environment by collaborating frequently
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills; including proof-reading, suggesting revisions and contacting clients
  • Self-motivated
