Position Summary

Kiewit is hiring experienced Structural CWB Welders for the Woodfibre Project in Squamish, BC.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of structural welding experience, ideally in a marine or industrial setting.
  • Valid Journeyperson Welder certification
  • CWB All Position SMAW & FCAW tickets (Shielded Metal Arc Welding and Flux-Cored Arc Welding)
  • Must be certified under CSA Standard W47.1 for fusion welding of steel, which is mandatory for structural welding in Canada.
  • Able to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required by the workload
  • Observe and comply with all safety and project rules. Performs other duties as required.

Shift Information

14/7 rotation, 10-hour days, day shift.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

  • Perform structural welding in accordance with CWB standards
  • Read and interpret blueprints and welding procedures
  • Weld steel components using FCAW and SMAW processes
  • Operate a company-provided welding rig truck (note: this is not a rig welder position)
  • Conduct pre-weld inspections and post-weld quality checks
  • Work safely in a fast-paced industrial environment

Requirements

  • Valid CWB Certification
  • CSTS 2020 and WHMIS 2015
  • Driver's license and 5 years driver abstract is required
  • Must pass Drug & Alcohol test and 50lb Fitness to work test
  • Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Able to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required by the workload
  • Observe and comply with all safety and project rules. Performs other duties as required.
