What You’ll Do;
As the Human Resources Specialist at Sporting Life Group, you’ll be the first point of contact for our retail and Store Support Centre employees across our banners. You'll provide troubleshooting and guidance to a wide range of inquiries through the Employee Services Help Desk, everything from policies and benefits to payroll and onboarding.
Within this role, you'll own our employee data in Dayforce, our HRIS, and be responsible for maintaining and updating it to ensure accuracy and consistency across all systems. You also support hiring managers with recruitment tasks and lead new hire orientations, helping new team members feel welcomed and prepared from day one.
Beyond day-to-day support, you contribute to a data-driven HR function by preparing reports and metrics that help inform smarter business decisions. You manage employee programs, such as referrals and service awards, and play a key role in promoting a culture built on authenticity, trust, and connection.
- Escalate complex or sensitive employee issues to the Director, People & Culture or appropriate leaders, ensuring alignment with HR service standards.
- Maintain a high level of data integrity across all HR systems and ensure compliance with internal processes and policies.
- Feed relevant content into the AI chatbot to support employee self-service through the LMS (Axonify).
- Prepare employment-related documentation such as verification letters and compensation change notices.
- Actively manage the SLG discount card program and support other employee engagement initiatives.
- Provide monthly employee services metrics and insights to help identify trends and improve service delivery.
What You’ll Bring;
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience working in Human Resources with customer service exposure, ideally within a shared service center experience.
- Experience using Dayforce HRIS is required, with knowledge of HR analytics and metrics.
- Detail-oriented processing skills in all Microsoft products, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Excellent customer relations, interpersonal, and conflict management while being positive and resilient
- Strong time management skills and the ability to handle multiple competing priorities and maintain confidentiality.
- Clear, timely, and concise communication in English fluently (bilingual in French is not required but is an asset).
- Ability to work in a hybrid work model, 4 days a week in the office.
