About the Opportunity Our client, a well-established company in the food production and distribution industry, is looking for a Senior Accounting Technician to join their close-knit accounting team. What You'll Be Doing: Accounts Receivable & Customer Account Management Manage accounts receivable and monitor outstanding customer balances. Follow up on overdue accounts and coordinate collection activities. Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies, payment deductions, and chargebacks through supplier portals used by major food retailers. Prepare, validate, and issue accurate customer invoices. Build strong customer relationships and respond to payment-related inquiries professionally. Accounting Operations Support the full accounting cycle and daily accounting activities. Record invoices, payments, receipts, purchases, and sales transactions. Process and verify customer orders while ensuring pricing and terms are accurate. Assist with both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities as needed. Support month-end accounting processes and maintain accurate financial records. Financial Reporting & Reconciliations Perform bank and account reconciliations. Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies. Prepare supporting documentation for internal and external audits. Maintain accurate and organized financial records. Team Support Work closely with the Controller on day-to-day accounting operations. Support and mentor Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable team members when needed. Contribute to a collaborative, team-focused environment where everyone pitches in.

What We're Looking For Diploma (DEP, DEC, or AEC) in Accounting or a related field. Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar accounting role. Previous experience within the food production or food distribution industry is strongly preferred. Strong understanding of the full accounting cycle. Solid Accounts Receivable experience, including collections, reconciliations, and customer account management. Experience working with supplier portals used by major grocery retailers (such as Sobeys, Loblaws, Metro, Costco, Walmart, or similar) is considered a strong asset. Experience using ERP or accounting systems such as Sage, SAP, Acomba, or similar platforms. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to work independently while contributing to a small, collaborative team. Fluent French (spoken and written). Advanced English (spoken and written).

Responsabilités Gérer les comptes recevables, les activités de recouvrement et le suivi des comptes clients. Enquêter sur les écarts de facturation, les déductions, les rétrofacturations (chargebacks) et les problèmes de paiement à l'aide des portails fournisseurs utilisés par les grandes chaînes d'alimentation. Participer aux activités quotidiennes du cycle comptable complet ainsi qu'aux processus de fin de mois. Préparer, vérifier et valider les factures clients afin d'assurer leur exactitude. Profil recherché Minimum de 3 ans d'expérience dans un poste similaire en comptabilité. Solide expérience en comptes recevables, incluant le recouvrement, les conciliations et la gestion des comptes clients. Bonne maîtrise du cycle comptable complet. Expérience dans le secteur de la production ou de la distribution alimentaire. Expérience avec des systèmes ERP ou comptables tels que Sage, SAP, Acomba ou un système similaire. Expérience avec les portails fournisseurs de grandes chaînes d'alimentation (Sobeys, Loblaws, Metro, Costco, Walmart ou équivalent) constitue un atout important. Excellentes aptitudes en analyse, en organisation et en résolution de problèmes. Excellentes compétences en service à la clientèle et en communication. Capacité à travailler de façon autonome tout en contribuant au succès d'une petite équipe. Maîtrise du français, à l'oral comme à l'écrit. Niveau avancé d'anglais, à l'oral comme à l'écrit.
