You will perform a variety of accounting and clerical work necessary in monitoring and coordinating payments, revenue and receivables related to activities of the Commission. You may prepare and enter journal entries; reconcile accounts; prepare invoices and account statements; correspond with vendors and clients, and prepare bank deposits. Other duties include communicating with staff at facilities to support them in following cashiering methods and procedures, and answering financial related inquiries.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS You have completed Grade 12, including or supplemented by bookkeeping or accounting courses, plus sound related experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience. You also have knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping, the rules and regulations governing applicable accounting operations and knowledge of the principles and practices of processing accounts payable and receivables. You have the ability to work with computerized registration and accounting systems as well as experience using Microsoft Excel and Word.
The pay for this unionized auxiliary position starts at step 1, $28.37 and ranges up to $33.25 per hour, plus 12% in lieu of benefits (2024 rates).
This is an auxiliary position with hours based on operational needs for approximately 21 -28 hours per week.
