**Position Title:**IT Governance Analyst
**Location:**Winnipeg, MB (On-site)
**Employment Type:**Full-time
Position Overview
The IT Governance & Enablement Analyst supports the development, adoption, and continuous improvement of IT governance practices across the organization. This role focuses on creating practical, scalable processes, templates, and tools that enhance consistency, visibility, and coordination across IT.
Working closely with IT domains, business units, and affiliated companies, this position acts as a partner and enabler, helping teams adopt effective ways of working rather than operating as a control function. The role combines governance support, process improvement, documentation, and stakeholder collaboration to build and mature a strong governance foundation.
Responsibilities:
- Support the design and continuous improvement of IT governance processes, standards, templates, and operating practices
- Develop practical, user-friendly governance artifacts that support project delivery, portfolio visibility, decision-making, and operational consistency
- Partner with IT domains, business units, and affiliated companies to develop or refine process artifacts while ensuring alignment with enterprise standards
- Act as a governance partner by guiding teams on applying frameworks, templates, and processes in a practical and effective manner
- Support PMO and portfolio governance through the development and maintenance of templates, reporting structures, and governance materials
- Coordinate governance forums and meetings, ensuring clear documentation of decisions, actions, and follow-ups
- Contribute to training, onboarding, and communication initiatives to support adoption of governance practices
- Identify process gaps and improvement opportunities, and collaborate with stakeholders to enhance processes over time
- Support the ongoing maturation of governance practices by improving clarity, usability, and adoption
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
- Experience in business analysis, PMO support, process improvement, governance support, or similar roles
- Exposure to IT processes, project coordination, operational frameworks, or enterprise tools
- Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, Excel, or Power BI is an asset
- Familiarity with governance frameworks such as COBIT or ITIL is an asset
Ideal Candidate
- Strong interest in process improvement, governance enablement, and operating model design
- Collaborative and able to work across teams to translate structure into practical solutions
- Brings clarity and structure without introducing unnecessary complexity
- Strong documentation, facilitation, and communication skills
- Ability to balance standardization with a pragmatic approach
- Detail-oriented with strong follow-through and accountability
- Comfortable challenging gaps and driving continuous improvement
