POSITION OVERVIEW:
Under the supervision of the Production Supervisor, the position performs a variety of industrial cutting functions. These duties include but are not limited to transporting rolls of fabric, loading and unloading fabric onto the cutting table, reading filtration specification sheets and cutting material according to specification sheets. The remaining points are inserted under the duties and responsibilities section.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Transports rolls of fabric from the staging area, using lifting devices to the cutting table.
- Loads and unloads fabric on and off the cutting table using required lifting devices.
- Review and understand specifications and engineer drawings and/or work orders for the industrial cutting table.
- Measure, layout and cut industrial fabric according to specification sheets or engineer drawings provided by the Production Supervisor.
- Produces work orders in accordance to pre-established scheduled, provided by the Production Supervisor.
- Organize and label all cut pieces in an efficient manner, to ensure the full order is completed.
- Monitor waste factors when cutting the fabric and store the scraps under the cutting table for use on other projects.
- Maintains complete knowledge of and comply with company and departmental policies, procedures and standards.
- Maintains client and company confidence by keeping information confidential and secure.
- Maintains a positive working relationship with team members and management in a team environment.
- Set-up and organize individual work area with designated supplies, forms and resource materials while maintaining cleanliness at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Completion of Ontario Secondary School Diploma (or equivalent if studied in a different Country or Province).
- Strong mathematical and calculation skills.
- Industrial manufacturing experience.
- 1+ year working within an industrial production role.
- Comfortable working with hand tools
- Experience using computers including an ERP system to scan in and out of work orders.
