The Quality Control Supervisor is responsible for leading the day-to-day quality control activities across production, incoming materials, and outbound shipping. This role ensures that products meet BE quality standards, customer expectations, and applicable compliance requirements.

The role provides leadership to the Quality Control team and supports cross-functional teams by monitoring the quality management processes, identifying nonconformances, supporting root-cause investigations, and driving corrective and preventive actions.

This position acts as the operational owner of the QC system during execution, ensuring standards are followed, documentation is accurate, and continuous improvement efforts support production efficiency, supplier performance, and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

Leadership & Workforce Development

  • Supervise QC team members across production, receiving, and shipping functions.
  • Assign work, prioritize resources, and ensure coverage across operational requirements.
  • Train and coach technicians to drive consistent inspection standards, documentation accuracy, and accountability.

Quality Execution & System Discipline

  • Ensure incoming inspections, in-process checks, and outbound audits are completed according to SOPs, inspection plans, and specifications.
  • Verify inspection records, test results, and documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with internal standards.
  • Maintain calibration and proper use of inspection tools and quality equipment.

Nonconformance Management

  • Lead containment and escalation of defects, supplier issues, or repeat failures.
  • Support root-cause investigations and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Ensure nonconformance reporting, rework tracking, and disposition processes are followed.

Supplier & Customer Quality Support

  • Issue supplier quality reports for failed incoming material and track closure status.
  • Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, and R&D when supplier quality or design-related concerns arise.
  • Support responses to customer feedback or field failures through structured documentation.

Quality Assurance System Maintenance

  • Monitor adherence to quality standards, policies, and SOPs.
  • Assist in implementing procedural updates aligned with improvement projects, compliance requirements, or new product launches.
  • Participate in or support internal audits, compliance initiatives, and cross-functional quality reviews.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify trends, recurring defects, and systemic improvement opportunities.

  • Recommend process improvements using lean, standard work, mistake-proofing, or statistical monitoring methods.

  • Promote a culture of right-first-time and quality ownership across operations.

What we are looking for in a successful candidate:

  • Minimum 3–5 years experience in a manufacturing or production environment, ideally in quality control or inspection.
  • Experience supervising or coaching others; leadership of a QC or operational team preferred.
  • Working knowledge of inspection methods, measurement tools, and quality documentation.
  • Understanding of basic lean principles, root-cause analysis (5 Why, Fishbone, or similar), and corrective action processes.
  • Experience with ERP or quality software (Syspro experience considered an asset).
  • Ability to read drawings/specs and communicate quality requirements clearly.
  • Mechanically inclined and comfortable working hands-on with tools, equipment, or assemblies.
  • Proficient computer skills including MS Office and digital recordkeeping platforms.
  • Strong communication, attention to detail, and situational decision-making skills.
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced, production-focused environment.
  • Safety-first mindset and commitment to workplace standards.
