About the role
About Us Gimme Bakery is a ghost kitchen based in Kitsilano specializing in handcrafted Brazilian savoury snacks and sweets. We sell through our online storefront, delivery apps, corporate catering, and pop-up markets. We are looking for a reliable, fast-paced Kitchen Cook to join our team and support our back-of-house operations. Key Responsibilities Prep & Machine Operation: Prepare dough mixes, operate specialized kitchen machinery, and pre-portion sweet and savoury items according to daily weight templates. Recipe Compliance: Strictly follow standardized recipe sheets to ensure consistency in flavour, size, and visual quality. Order Fulfillment: Prepare and package fresh orders for walk-in pickups, delivery apps (Uber Eats, DoorDash), and bulk catering boxes. Maintenance & Event Support: Maintain station sanitation, lift/organize deliveries up to 20 lbs, and assist with live food prep at off-site events under the Event Coordinator's supervision. What We Are Looking For Certification: Valid Food Safe Level 1 certification is required. Experience: 0–2 years of kitchen experience; comfort working at a fast pace during peak hours. Skills: Strong reliability, attention to kitchen hygiene, and ability to follow precise instructions. Languages: Professional fluency in English; bilingual skills in Portuguese are a plus.
