Echocardiography Technologist - MRHH Medical Imaging
About the role
Job Description As part of the inter-professional team the Echocardiography Technologist plays an essential role in providing quality and patient/family centered care. The Echocardiography Technologist is responsible for producing quality diagnostic Echocardiograms in keeping with Mackenzie Health’s protocols. While maintaining personal and patient safety, the Echocardiography Technologist is responsible to work within a team environment to complete scanning of In-patient and Out-patient clients in an accurate, efficient and professional manner. All roles are essential in providing a safe and healthy environment for patients, staff, physicians, volunteers and others by ensuring that health and safety policies are followed.

What must you have?
- Graduate of a recognized echo program or equivalent work experience.
- Registration in Good Standing with the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario (CMRTO), required.
- Minimum 5 years of related work experience.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
What else do you bring?
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work various shifts.
- Able to work independently and as part of the inter-professional team.
- Computer literacy in windows.
- Previous experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
- Experience in TEE examinations is an asset.
- Demonstrated proficiency in digital image acquisition.
- Proven attendance record.
- Demonstrates understanding and complies with patient and staff safety policies and procedures that foster a safe and inclusive environment for all.
- Ability to perform the essential duties of the job.
- Effectively uses empathy in interactions with others.
- Demonstrates behaviours consistent with Mackenzie Health’s Commitment to Caring.

Preferably, Your Profile Also Includes
- Registration in Good Standing with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in Adult Echo, preferred.
- Previous experience in a hospital setting is an asset.
- Previous experience within the Echocardiography Technologist classification.
- Experience in TEE examinations is an asset.
- Ability to speak a second language.
- This position is being represented by OPSEU Paramedical.
- You may be required to work at any site of Mackenzie Health.
