About the role

We are hiring a Group Facilitator to join our team! The Group Facilitator is responsible for facilitating two monthly hybrid drop-in support groups: Free to Be (for parents and caregivers of trans and gender-diverse individuals) and the Transgender Support Group (for trans and gender-diverse community members). The Group Facilitator will also conduct pre-group interviews as needed, complete required group program documentation, provide support/information/referrals to community resources, and attend agency meetings as required.

Qualifications:

  • Background and extensive experience in social work, psychology, counselling or related discipline.
  • Registration and good standing with a regulatory college (i.e., CRPO or OCSWSSW), if applicable.
  • Strong understanding of group process and dynamics, and facilitation skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of the diverse needs, lived experiences, and systemic barriers faced by 2SLGBTQ+ communities, with a particular emphasis on supporting and affirming trans and gender-diverse individuals.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide competent, gender affirming and culturally safe service.
  • Ability to work remotely from home with internet capacity and in the office, as required.
  • Strong computer skills and capacity to work on virtual platforms and client information systems (such as CaseWorks).
  • An energetic and welcoming personality with ability to be versatile, flexible and a team player.
  • A satisfactory current Vulnerable Sector Screening.
