TEMPORARY PART-TIME LUNCH MONITOR

At

Central Senior School in Lindsay

This temporary, part-time position is effective starting immediately to June 26, 2026. This posting is a new position. Trillium Lakelands District School Board (TLDSB) is seeking a Lunch Monitor to provide general indoor and outdoor supervision and monitoring of students under the direction of the Principal over the lunch hour recess at Central Senior School. The Lunch Monitor will work as a positive member of the school team to create a caring and respectful school environment for students and staff.

Responsibilities**:**

  • Provide general supervision and monitoring of students during lunch within the school setting as assigned by the Principal which includes but not limited to various classroom settings, yard duty and school hallways
  • Respond to student behaviour and/or issues appropriately as per school and/or Board procedures as they arise
  • Ensure appropriate escalation of student matters to the Principal or designate as required
  • Participate in mandatory TLDSB training

Qualifications and skills

  • Experience working with children
  • Ability to ensure safety and security of students which includes acting quickly in emergencies
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate and respond to student needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills which includes ability to use tact and diplomacy when communicating with students of various ages and members of the school community
  • Ability to follow school policies and procedures
  • Proven record of attendance and punctuality
  • Police vulnerable sector check deemed as satisfactory to the Board

Compensation: $17.60 per hour

Hours of Work**:** The Principal shall determine the hours of work which will generally be one (1) hour a day, Monday to Friday* unless otherwise determined by the Principal. (*instructional days during the Board's school year).
