Reporting to the Chair, Education Programs, the Manager, Early Childhood Education Programs is responsible for the integrity of Early Childhood Education Programs Developed and delivered at Nunavut Arctic College between three regional campuses and 25 Nunavut Communities. The position is also responsible for Early Childhood Education funding agreements between the college and stakeholders at all levels of government and Inuit organizations.

The Manager writes proposals, plans programs, prepares and manages budgets, manages resources and staff as well as provides academic and administrative leadership pertaining to Early Childhood Education programs to ensure curricula efficacy in Applied Certificate and Diploma programs. In addition, you will develop academic partnerships with other post-secondary institutions nationally and internationally in support of current research in the field, transferability of credits and laddering to diploma and degree programs.

The Ideal Candidate will have a University Degree in Education, ideally in Adult Education or Early Childhood Education. A degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or a relevant field in Social Sciences will also be considered. Additionally, 3 years relevant management experience is required. Experience teaching in early childhood education, elementary school, high school, or post-secondary school is an asset. Experience developing post-secondary curriculum is an asset.

The Official Languages of Nunavut are Inuktitut, Inuinnaqtun, English and French. Fluency in more than one of Nunavut’s official language is an asset.

Acceptable combinations of education and experience may be considered for this position

Knowledge of Inuit language, communities, culture, land and Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit is an asset.
