Software Engineer in Test (ISTQB Advance certificate)
About the role
Job Title: SDET Location: Mississauga, ON - Hybrid Employment Type: Full-time
Candidates must hold ISTQB – Foundation & Advanced Level certification.
Role: Test Automation Engineer / SDET Key Skills & Experience:
- 8+ years of experience in Test Automation / SDET role
- Strong hands-on experience in Selenium Automation with Java using BDD (Cucumber)
- Proven expertise in REST API testing using REST Assured
- Strong knowledge of SQL / Oracle for backend data validation
- Experience working with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Git, and CI/CD pipelines
- Working knowledge of Docker for test environment setup
- Basic to intermediate proficiency in JavaScript
- Good understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologies
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks using Selenium, Java, and BDD
- Perform API automation and validation using REST Assured
- Create and execute automated test cases for web and backend systems
- Perform database validation using SQL / Oracle queries
- Integrate automation scripts into CI/CD pipelines
- Execute tests within Dockerized environments
- Analyze test results, identify defects, and track them to closure
- Collaborate with development, QA, and DevOps teams throughout the release cycle
- Ensure high-quality deliverables aligned with project timelines
Domain:
- Experience in Healthcare / Insurance / BFS domain is preferred
