About The Role

The Construction Manager is responsible for leading the full lifecycle of project execution, from budget handover and financial oversight through field planning, production tracking, site execution, safety, and project closeout. This role combines construction management, field operations leadership, financial accountability, contract oversight, manpower planning, and team development into one integrated position.

The successful candidate will ensure that projects are delivered safely, efficiently, profitably, and in alignment with customer commitments. This position serves as the key link between project management, field teams, customers, and senior leadership, ensuring financial projections, operational execution, and field productivity remain closely aligned throughout each project

Key Responsibilities

Lead budget handover meetings and ensure project budgets, assumptions, scope, and expectations are clearly understood by project and field teams. Monitor project financial performance, including margins, cost projections, earned revenue, and billing. Identify financial risks early and implement corrective actions to protect project profitability. Oversee customer contracts, including scope alignment, change orders, contract obligations, and dispute resolution. Ensure commitments to the customer are met and project constraints and roadblocks are removed in a timely manner. Support timely documentation and resolution of changes, delays, and other project impacts. Oversee manpower and work planning, crew assignments, dispatching, and field scheduling to meet project goals. Ensure superintendents, supervisors and foremen accurately gather and report production, weekly work plans and monitor constraints. Maintain strong communication between field crews, project managers, customers, and leadership. Promote a strong safety culture across field teams, supervisors, and subcontractors Address safety, quality, and productivity concerns through coaching, corrective action, and process improvement. Lead or support root cause analysis for field issues, safety concerns, production gaps, or recurring operational problems. Support adoption of technology tools for field reporting, scheduling, production tracking, cost forecasting, and financial management. Identify gaps in workflows between office and field teams and implement practical solutions. Standardize reporting practices to improve visibility into project performance and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

10+ years of experience in construction management, field operations, project management, or a related leadership role. Strong understanding of commercial construction operations, project execution, budgeting, forecasting, and financial management. Experience managing project budgets, labour planning, scheduling, productivity, and customer expectations. Strong knowledge of construction contracts, change orders, project documentation, and cost control. Demonstrated ability to identify risks, solve problems, and make sound operational and financial decisions. Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills with field teams, clients, suppliers, and senior leadership. Strong understanding of safety compliance, quality management, manpower planning, and production tracking.

Preferred

Experience implementing process improvements and construction technology to improve operational efficiency. Proficiency with construction management, scheduling, reporting, and financial tracking software.
