Shop Technician - Lead

About the role

The Lead Shop & Equipment Technician is a hands-on shop-based role responsible for maintaining, repairing, and ensuring operational readiness of air trailers, emergency shower units, medical treatment centres, trucks, and support equipment. This position provides day-to-day technical leadership in the shop and yard and requires strong mechanical aptitude and a safety-focused mindset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of air trailers, emergency shower units, medical treatment centres, trucks, and trailers

  • Operate and maintain breathing air compressors and associated system

  • Complete preventative maintenance and maintain accurate service records

  • Read and interpret manuals, schematics, and technical drawings

  • Identify, tag, and remove defective equipment from service

  • Maintain shop and yard organization and equipment readiness

  • Assist with inventory management, parts ordering, and tool control

  • Collaborate with operations, safety, and logistics teams to support deployments

  • Participate in audits, toolbox meetings, and ERP drills

  • Operate skid steer, haul trailers, and perform yard maintenance, including snow removal

  • Minimum2 years of vehicle and equipment maintenance experience(lead or senior experience preferred)

  • Strongmechanical aptitudewith trailers and industrial equipment

  • Experience withbreathing air equipment

  • Proficient with hand and power tools

  • Experience operating skid steer and hauling trailers

  • Working knowledge ofDOT and TDG regulations

  • ValidH2S Alive, CSO, First Aid & CPR(or ability to obtain)

  • Ability to passdrug and alcohol screening

  • ValidClass 5 driver’s licensewith acceptable driver’s abstract
