About the role
Job Description:
We are seeking a Junior or Intermediate Analyst to join our Strategic Advisory Services (SAS) group in our Vancouver office.
You will provide integrated asset and climate advisory services to client organizations, helping communities, local governments, and other organizations plan and manage for long-term resilience. You will have opportunities for learning and growth across multiple service areas, including asset management, climate resilience, GHG mitigation, digital/data solutions, disaster preparedness, and maintenance planning.
This role is ideal for someone who has a technical foundation in infrastructure, engineering, or asset-related work and who is motivated to grow into a broader strategic and advisory practice. While technical skills are important, what matters most is the ability to think critically, connect technical details with big picture strategy, and ask the “so what” questions that matter to our clients.
- At the junior level, you will bring a solid foundation in infrastructure-related work or data analysis and an eagerness to learn across all SAS service areas.
- At the intermediate level, you will bring demonstrated experience in asset management, climate resilience, or a related field and be ready to step into greater responsibility in project delivery, client engagement, and business development.
Responsibilities will include the following:
-
Support clients in asset management projects, including strategies, plans, frameworks, models, tools, and investment prioritization.
-
Conduct research, analysis, and interpretation of data—helping to bridge technical details with actionable client strategies.
-
Assess and provide actions to manage risk, performance, compliance, and strategic alignment.
-
Develop clear, evidence-based reports, presentations, and visualizations (e.g., PowerBI, dashboards) to communicate insights and recommendations.
-
Participate in stakeholder engagement, including workshops, structured interviews, and collaborative client sessions. Plan and engage in change management activities.
-
Support business development, including proposals and client presentations.
Job Requirements:
What you will bring:
Essentials (Junior/Intermediate):
- Diploma or undergraduate degree in engineering, planning, environmental science, business, or a related discipline (engineering preferred).
- A foundation in infrastructure or asset-related work (municipal systems, capital planning, operations and maintenance, or technical analysis).
- Ability to analyze and interpret data, with interest or experience in data visualization tools (e.g., PowerBI, GIS, Excel).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A critical and systems thinking mindset—able to question assumptions, connect details to the big picture, and focus on the client’s “so what.”
- Proactive, motivated, and collaborative, with a demonstrated ability to learn and problem-solve in a team environment.
Additional (Intermediate):
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in asset management or related advisory/technical services.
- Experience coordinating projects, tasks, or small teams.
- Exposure to client engagement, facilitation, or proposal development.
Assets:
- Knowledge of asset management frameworks (ISO 55000, IAM, IIMM, InfraGuide, NAMS+, etc.).
- Familiarity with climate risk assessments, adaptation planning, or GHG analysis.
- Experience with digital tools, modelling, or decision-support systems.
- Professional designation or working toward one (P.Eng., RPP, PMP, IRP, etc.).
