The Opportunity

The School for Advanced Digital Technology (SADT) is seeking a dynamic dual-role professional to serve as an Instructional Assistant for the Information Security Systems program (15-20 hours/week) and as a Cyber Range Facilitator (15-20 hours/week) based at our downtown campus. This unique position combines direct student support with the creation and management of cutting-edge cybersecurity training environments. The successful candidate will support faculty and students in the classroom while designing, implementing, and maintaining realistic cyber security scenarios that provide hands-on learning experiences. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in both educational and technical environments, with a passion for cybersecurity education and practical skills development.

Note: This is a temporary contract which will take place in the downtown campus, however, will require occasional travel to the main campus.

The Role

    • Instructional Support Activities
    • Assist Information Security Systems faculty with classroom instruction, lab setup, and student guidance
    • Support student learning through one-on-one assistance and small group activities
    • Help maintain and troubleshoot lab equipment and software
    • Assist with grading, feedback, and administrative tasks as assigned
    • Cyber Range Scenario Development
    • Design and create realistic cybersecurity scenarios and simulations
    • Develop attack and defense exercises that align with current industry threats
    • Build virtual environments that replicate real-world network infrastructures
    • Create documentation and user guides for scenarios
    • Cyber Range Operations
    • Maintain and monitor cyber range infrastructure and systems
    • Coordinate scheduling and access for student groups and faculty
    • Provide technical support during cyber range exercises
    • Ensure system security, performance, and availability
    • Stakeholder Collaboration and Training
    • Work with faculty to integrate cyber range exercises into curriculum
    • Train instructors and students on cyber range capabilities and procedures
    • Collaborate with industry partners to ensure scenarios reflect current threat landscape
    • Participate in professional development and stay current with cybersecurity trends

Qualifications

    • 2 years experience studying in cybersecurity, network security, or related technical field within the last 3 years
    • 1-2 years experience in educational support or teaching assistance
    • Experience with virtualization technologies, network simulation, and cyber range platforms is required
    • Familiar with courses within SAIT's Information Systems Security diploma

Job Classification: Ed.Lab Technologist III

Salary Range: $64,625- $70,200

Hours per week: 40hrs
