Overview:
Are you ready to dive into the exciting and innovative world of Engineered Wood? Kadant Carmanah Design has a great opportunity in its finance department for a well-rounded individual as an AR/AP Administrator.
Kadant Carmanah Design, a division of Kadant Canada Corp., is a subsidiary of Kadant Inc. (NYSE:KAI). Kadant Carmanah Design is based in Surrey, British Columbia. Kadant Carmanah Design is recognized as a global leader of innovation in the design and manufacture of equipment in the Engineered Wood products industry and is the largest supplier of Stranders used in the production of Oriented Strand Board (OSB) and other wood-based composites.
Reporting to the Controller, the successful candidate is responsible for day-to-day accounting tasks and acts as a departmental support to ensure that the financial documents are maintained in good order. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be exposed to real-world accounting of a publicly traded corporation. The position will allow the candidate to work alongside our Chartered Professional Accountants and obtain mentorship in relation to their expertise.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with Accounts Receivable
- Apply payments to customer accounts
- Process bank transfers and adjustments
- Issue customer shipment and deposit Invoices
- Assist with Accounts Payable
- Process vendor invoices
- Assist with weekly payment run (wire, cheque, EFT)
- Ad-Hoc analysis
- Special projects from the Senior Accountant and management
- Complete CRA monthly and quarterly surveys
- Assist with departmental administrative tasks
- Record retention
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of accounting concepts
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Team building and organizing
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work under strict deadlines
- Epicor or other ERP experience is an added asset
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
