Nature & Scope
Trade Works is a 52-week employment and training initiative designed to provide Construction Craft Worker (CCW) training to up to 56 participants in four cohorts. Cohort 1-3 is located in Kamloops, BC and Clearwater, BC. The project supports participants in gaining essential skills, certifications, and hands-on experience to transition into employment within the construction sector. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, a strong communicator, and comfortable working in a dynamic, multi-site environment. This role is essential to ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and positive participant experiences.
Major Responsibilities**-** in this position, you will**:**
- Ensures the delivery of high-quality programs and services that meet Provincial, Federal and YBC requirements and standards.
- Maintains standards to evaluate the delivery of program/functional area and ensures ongoing tracking and monitoring to ensure continuous improvement.
- Responsible for developing, monitoring program budgets and completing funder required reporting, government reports, as well as tracking and monitoring expenditures to ensure programs operate within budget.
- Participate in the growth and development of YMCA BC employment programs.
- Direct supervision multiple program teams comprising of front line and administrative staff.
- Provides ongoing management of employees and volunteer performance.
- Builds and maintains relationships with key stakeholders to meet program area requirements.
- Communicates with stakeholders and addresses issues and concerns as required.
- Supports contract acquisition through involvement in proposals for funding requests.
- Plans, participates in and supports Association-wide initiatives and fundraising events.
- Ensures program deliverables are being met and evidenced with appropriate documentation.
- Responsible for monitoring and ensuring program operational budgets are meeting outlined financial results, monitoring of any slippage and development of new annual budgets.
- Responsible for program financial forecasting, leading funder financial monitors and submitting funder required claims.
- Ensuring and monitoring programs are accessible and inclusive for everyone.
Qualification**-you bring:**
- Post-Secondary Degree or Certificate in a related discipline, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 3 years direct service experience in career development, learning environments and working with people who faced barriers in achieving and maintaining employment.
- Demonstrated ability to develop programs, staff, and processes to ensure organization operations run smoothly.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of staff and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated knowledge of BC labour market
- Ability to be flexible, adaptable and multi-task in high demand environment.
- Advanced MS Office skills
- High degree of independence and initiative within a team environment
- Proven responsibility to coordinate tasks and work as part of a team.
- Successful candidate will be required to provide 3 satisfactory references
- Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Record check with a Vulnerable sector search issued no later than six (6) months preceding the start date.
