Located at the School Board Office at 3143 Jacklin Road in Langford, the Finance Department of School District No. 62 (Sooke) is seeking a full-time permanent Accountant.
Reporting to the Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis, the Accountant will provide support and expertise to the District performing a variety of analysis and accounting duties with a focus on working closely with staff to support decision making and the development of budgets, forecasts, financial reports and statements, and preparation for the annual year end audit.

- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation; however, candidates enrolled in the CPA program with an equivalent combination of education, training and work experience will be considered.
- Minimum two years of recent and related experience with one year of financial analysis, including variance analysis; preferably in the education sector.
- Thorough working knowledge of the use of financial and accounting software; familiarity with atrieve ERP an asset.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel as well as familiarity with host and internet-based computer applications.

The salary range for this full-time position is $86,541 to $108,176 per annum. Initial placement within the range is based on related education and experience.
